Listed at the end of this page are the advantages of using a usb flash drive
1.
Plug
in your USB Flash Drive to your computer.
2.
Go
to My Computer. Do you see the USB Flash Drive? If yes, everything is working correctly, and
you can stop with these instructions.
3.
If
no, look at your drives. Find a drive
letter that is not in use. Remember that
letter.
4.
Close My Computer.
5.
Open
up Computer Management by right
clicking on My Computer (in Vista it
will be just Computer) and click on Manage.

6.
In
Computer Management, select Disk
Management.
7.
In
my example, my Sandisk flash drive read correctly and is called Menard_USB (J): Meaning on my computer it is the J Drive. I
am going to change it anyway.

8.
Right
click on your usb drive and select Change Drive Letter and Paths…

9.
Click

Advantages
of usb flash Drives:
·
Can hold more information than a CD ROM. CR Rom is 700 MB. Most flash drives are now 2GB to 32GB. My SanDisk U3 Flash Drive is 4GB. Paid $32 for it.
·
Don’t have to worry about scratching your
flash drive
·
No extra software is needed. Just plug in and copy and paste files.
·
The new U3 flash drives can be password
protected.
·
Programs can be installed on U3 Flash drives
and the data from those programs will travel with you
Chris Menard’s favorite U3 program: Robo
Form 2Go
RoboForm is the top-rated Password Manager and Web
Form Filler that completely automates password entering and form
filling
